Gathering Music | “It is Well With My Soul” | arr. Robert Lau
Ellen Gilbert, organ
Sharing Time – Joys and Concerns | LaMonte Rothrock
Opening Words | Roddy Hamilton (lightly adapted)
In a world that is always asking us to become something, someone, some success story –
in this place of sanctuary and love God calls: ‘don’t become, be who you already are’.
Don’t become light – be the light you already are – this is what God anciently placed in you.
Don’t become salt – be the salt you already are – it is in this way you are known to God.
For from these elements: Salt and Light, God uniquely crafted you.
Don’t become anything – be who you are, and discover the one who loves you in your be-ing.

COMMUNION
Invitation
As you feel called, please make your way to communion at the front of the church;
receive a piece of communion bread and a communion cup of juice. Partake of them as you
receive them or take them back to your seat and consume them when you are ready.
For those of you joining worship electronically, partake when you are ready.
Before we commune – let us, in unison, speak the words for the Bread and Cup.
Words for the Bread and Cup
May this communion bread – remind us of the life and teachings of Jesus and call us anew
to be God’s salt in this Good Creation.
May this communion cup – remind us of the life and teachings of Jesus and call us anew
to be God’s light in this Good Creation.
Partake of the Bread and Cup
Prayer
Communion Song | “Sent forth by God’s blessing” | #478
Please remain seated for the song and leave quietly as you are ready.
Out of respect for others, please take your visiting to the first floor lobby or outside.
