Scripture of the Palms | Matthew 28: 1-8
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, and an angel of God came from heaven and, going to the tomb,
rolled back the stone and sat on it.
The angel’s appearance was like lightning – the angel’s clothes were white as snow.
The guards were so afraid of the angel that they shook and became frozen – as if they were dead.

The angel said to the women,
“Do not be afraid – I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen – just as he said.
Come – see the place where he lay.
Now – go quickly and tell the disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and –
is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’
Now I have told you.
So the women hurried away from the tomb – afraid – yet filled with joy,
and they ran – to tell – the disciples.

Baptismal Vows
In the Church of the Brethren we believe baptism is a choice that is made when an individual is old enough to
actively and intentionally pursue God – and seek to be in dialogue – with the community of faith.

Unison Words of Support and Welcome
We welcome you with joy and affection into this family of faith.
We pledge to you – our help, our prayers, our love –
that we may all increase in the knowledge and love of God.
We trust God for strength to follow with you in Jesus’ way;
keeping together – the unity of the Spirit – in the bonds of peace.  Welcome
