*Call to Worship
ONE: Planet Earth, spinning silently through space:
ALL: We celebrate your beauty and your grace, your special place in our solar system.
ONE: Planet Earth, gleaming green and blue:
ALL: We rejoice in your ocean currents as they dance and swirl with hope.
ONE: Planet Earth, pulsing with life:
ALL: We join in praise with all your fauna and flora as they sing their songs to the Creator.
ONE: Planet Earth, enveloped in the breath of God:
ALL: May all your creatures be blessed this day with the life-giving breath of God.
ONE: Planet Earth, our precious, fragile home:
ALL: We celebrate, with all your children, God’s presence in our planet home.
ONE: Spin, Planet Earth, spin!
ALL: Sing, Planet Earth, sing!
ONE: We celebrate the song of our planet!
ALL: Sing, Planet Earth, sing!

*Opening Song – “God, Who Stretched” #414

Invitation to Give
Giving Music
Responsive Prayer of Great Thanksgiving
ONE: The Creator is with you and all creation.
ALL: And also with you.
ONE: Open your hearts.
ALL: We open them to our Creator.
ONE: Let us give thanks to our Creator.
ALL: It is right to join creation in thanking God.
ONE: It is right to give you thanks, loving Creator.
ALL: Your Word is the impulse for all things to be, for space, stars and stardust to appear, for Earth to emerge from the deep, for life to be born of Earth and for humans to be    born of Earth and the Spirit.
ONE: You chose to be born a human being, to become a part of Earth, to renew creation, and affirm all born of Earth and the Spirit.
ALL: Your presence is the living impulse in all things, the God deep among us, filling Earth—land, sea and air; filling every element and place.
ONE: Therefore with angels and archangels, ancient voices in the forest, high voices from the sky, deep voices from the sea and the whole company of creation, we proclaim your presence among us and give Great Thanks.  AMEN

“The Butterfly Song” (words and music by Brian M. Howard)
Verse 1
If I were a butterfly, I’d thank you Lord for giving me wings.
If I were a robin in a tree, I’d thank you Lord that I could sing.
If I were a fish in the sea, I’d wiggle my tail and I’d giggle with glee.
But I just thank you Father for making me, me.
For you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile. You gave me Jesus and you made me your child. And I just thank you Father for making me, me.
Verse 2
If I were an elephant, I’d thank you Lord by raising my trunk.
If I were a kangaroo, you know I’d hop right up to you.
If I were an octopus, I’d thank you Lord for my fine looks.
But I just thank you Father for making me, me.  Chorus
Verse 3
If I were a wiggly worm, I’d thank you Lord that I could squirm.
If I were a fuzzy, wuzzy bear, I’d thank you Lord for my fuzzy, wuzzy hair.
If I were a crocodile I’d thank you Lord for my great smile.
But I just thank you Father for making me a me.  Chorus x 2
