A Celebration Potluck for the graduating Seniors will follow worship on Sunday, May 5.   All are welcome.  Please bring a side dish (Mexican themed if you wish since it’s Cinco de Mayo – 5th of May — Mexican Independence Day Celebration).  Chicken and cake will be provided.  All are welcome.

McPherson College Band will perform its final concert on Monday, May 6, 6:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Annabelle (Belle) Mae (Bittinger) Whitacre, 91, of McPherson, Kansas passed away on April 17, 2019 at The Cedars. A come-and-go reception to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at The Cedars Conference Center. Belle’s family will gather at a later date to scatter her ashes. Memorials may be given to the McPherson Church of the Brethren or Church of the Brethren Children’s Disaster Services, in honor of Belle. Thank you for your gracious expressions of support and love.

Graduation Reception – The church family is invited to a reception honoring high school seniors Ben Hopkins, Jace Kinnamon, Hannah Kirchner, Isaiah Moyer, Lindy Reynolds, Laura Ullom-Minnich and Grace van Asselt on Sunday, May 12, 2-4 p.m., in the Church Social Room.

International Conscientious Objection Day is Wednesday, May 15. All are invited to the Ecumenical Prayer for Peace Ceremony, 6-7 p.m., at the World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Mo. For more information, contact Paul Cesare at peacecoordinator@hotmail.com.

Work Camp Weekend is Friday, May 24 – Monday, May 27, at Camp Colorado. Volunteers with various skills and talents are needed. For more information, contact campmgr@campcolorado.org.

Camp Colorado Annual Meeting is Saturday, May 25, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Agenda items include the annual report, financial report and election of new board members. Three board positions are available. Contact Carine Ullom at carineullom@gmail.com or 785.214.1050 if you are interested in serving on the board or want to attend the meeting via video conference.

Junior High Camp at Camp Colorado (June 2-8) is in need of at least one additional male counselor. Josh Brockway will be serving as the spiritual advisor. LeAnn (Wine) Harnist and Genelle (Wine) Bunte are serving as co-directors and have planned an excellent week of camp around this year’s theme “Peace Works.”  Please contact Marla Ullom-Minnich if you have interest, questions, or could suggest the name of someone who may be interested.

The Outreach Team Food Drive has reached it’s $2,000 goal through donations of food and funds to the McPherson County Food Bank. Thank you all for your support and helping us reach this goal! We appreciate you!  – Outreach Team
