2017-18 Prairie Window Concert Series

The fourth concert, featuring The Honey Dewdrops, is planned for 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 3 at the Dyck Arboretum, Hesston.  You are invited to an evening of great music and good food in a prairie garden setting. Tickets: $20 adults/$10 kids, plus tax.  Arboretum members receive a 10% discount. Purchase tickets online or call 620-327-8127 to reserve your seats.

Winter Luminary Walk — Dyck Arboretum of the Plains

Everyone is invited to attend this year’s Winter Luminary Walk, focusing on the theme “The Prairie Sleeps”  at Dyck Arboretum of the Plains, Hesston.  The Luminary Walk will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on November 24 and 25, and December 1 and 2.  Admission to the event is $6 for Adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 15, or advanced tickets can be purchased at dyckarboretum.org or at the Arboretum office for $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 3 to 12.

Traditional outdoor highlights include the walking path lit up by hundreds of luminaries, a nativity scene in the leaf house, and roasting marshmallows at the fire pits. Performances by local groups will include children’s author Jane Kurtz reading her new book, “Planet Jupiter” at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 24, Angel Feet Dance Studio at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, and the Newton Community Children’s Choir at 6 and 7 p.m. on Friday, December 1. FAMILY NIGHT will be on December 2, with free admission for accompanied children 12 and under, face painting, crafts, storytelling and hay rack rides.  Volunteers are still needed! 39th Annual Christmas Carol-Along

Plan now to attend the 39th annual Christmas Carol-Along that is planned for 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, at the McPherson Opera House.  This is an informal, Come-and-Go event for the whole family.  Enjoy singing songs of the Season with your friends and neighbors without standing outside in the cold weather! There will be brief appearances by local groups, including the McPherson Community Brass Choir, Elyria Christian High School Choir, Soderstrom Elementary School — 1st & 2nd Grades, and Handbells by Kendra Flory.  Enjoy some refreshments and a visit from Santa!  No admission is charged.
