“A Musical Evening: Flute and Clarinet” – In the past, Kento Aizawa and Lillian Oeding have enhanced The Cedars Worship Services with special music. At 7 p.m., on Wednesday, May 30, you are invited to the Wellness Center and enjoy an evening of fine music. Accompanist will be Jean Hendricks.

2nd Annual Ice Cream Social at The Cedars, planned for Sunday, June 3 – Come and enjoy homemade ice cream and cake from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Conference Center. Entertainment will be provided by The Flatland String Band from Wichita. Invite your family and friends to this free event as our community continues to celebrate 125 years of service to our elders.

 

Invitations to McPherson College Music Concerts

McPherson College Choir will present their Spring Concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, in the Church Sanctuary.  Everyone is invited.

McPherson College Band, Jazz Band and Dixieland Jazz Combo will be presenting their Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in Brown Auditorium. The concert will feature Sophomore clarinetist, Kento Aizawa, and will showcase “lighter-fare” musical selections requested by the Senior band members.  Everyone is welcome.

FloraKansas Fall Native Plant Festival

The festival is planned for April 27 to 30, at Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston.  As Kansas’ largest native plant sale, FloraKansas offers many species of wildflowers and grasses, many of which are rare in cultivation. Memberships to the Arboretum can be obtained on the day of the sale. Arboretum members receive a 10% discount at all arboretum plant sales and may participate in the members only pre-sale on Thursday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  For more information, call 620-327-8127 or visit www.dyckarboretum.org.

Learning Opportunity Coming to McPherson College

The Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership is offering a course entitled, “What Brethren Believe,” at McPherson College on April 12-15, 2018.

Bethany Theological Seminary faculty member, Denise Kettering-Lane, will be leading the class, which explores the depths and breadth of Brethren belief.
