Opening Words
ONE: When God speaks a name twice, we know a significant situation is about to unfold –
an important message is about to be given. God states a person’s name twice for emphasis.
ALL: “Abraham! Abraham!, Jacob! Jacob!, Moses! Moses!, Samuel! Samuel!,
Martha! Martha!, Simon/Peter! Simon/Peter! Saul/Paul, Saul/Paul!”
This is a CALL from God; something new and substantial is about to be revealed.
ONE: God calls from a heart, full of love and asks us to participate more closely.
May we listen, may we accept, may we respond!

Scripture Focus | Luke 10: 38-42 | At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked,
“Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41[Jesus] answered,
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed – or indeed only one.
Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
♫Scripture Song | Sitting at the Feet of Jesus
Sung to the Tune of “What a Friend we have in Jesus”
Sitting at the feet of Jesus oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place, so near, so precious! May it find me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus, I would look upon the past.
For His love has been so gracious it has won my heart at last.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus where can mortals be more bless?
There I lay my sins and sorrows and when weary find sweet rest.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus there I love to weep and pray.
While I from His fullness gather, grace and comfort every day.
Bless me, O my Savior, bless me as I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me. Let me see Thy face so sweet.
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus. Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I’ve been with Jesus, who is all my righteousness.

We are the salt of the earth, called to let the people see the love of God in you and me.
We are the light of the world, not to be hidden but be seen. Go make a diff’rence in the world. REFRAIN
Verse 2
We are the hands of Christ reaching out to those in need, the face of God for all to see.
We are the spirit of hope; we are the voice of peace. Go make a diff’rence in the world.

So let your love shine on, let it shine for all to see. Go make a diff’rence in the world.
And the spirit of Christ will be with us as we go. Go make a diff’rence in the world. REFRAIN
