♫Musical Offering | “Healing Is In Your Hands” | Daniel Carson, Christy Nockels, Nathan Nockels, Matt Redman
Worship Band
No mountain, no valley, no gain or loss we know could keep us from Your love
No sickness, no secret, no chain is strong enough to keep us from Your love,
to keep us from Your love
How high, how wide, no matter where I am, healing is in Your hands
How deep, how strong, now by Your grace I stand, healing is in Your hands
Our present, our future, our past is in Your hands
We’re covered by Your blood, We’re covered by Your blood
How high, how wide no matter where I am, healing is in Your hands
How deep, how strong, now by Your grace I stand, healing is in Your hands (2x)
In all things we know that we are more than conquerors
You keep us by Your love (2x)
How high, how wide no matter where I am, healing is in Your hands
How deep, how deep is Your love. How strong, how strong is Your love
Now by Your grace I stand, healing is in Your hands
Scripture Focus | Luke 6:1-11 | Jesus Is Lord (Servant) of the Sabbath
1 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grain fields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels.
2 Some of the Pharisees asked,
“Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”
3 Jesus answered them,
“Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat.
And he also gave some to his companions.” 5 Then Jesus said to them,
“The Son of Humanity is Lord (Servant) of the Sabbath.”
6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.
7 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.
8 But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand,
“Get up and stand in front of everyone.”
So he got up and stood there. 9 Then Jesus said to them,
“I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”
10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man,
“Stretch out your hand.”
He did so, and his hand was completely restored.
11 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
♫Scripture Song | “When Jesus Healed” | Text; George Stuart
1.When Jesus healed on Sabbath days, he broke the sacred law;
The power structures were appalled; were shocked by what they saw.
Were shocked by what they saw.
2.For breaking of the Sabbath rules was such a heinous crime;
But Jesus taught that giving care was right at any time.
Was right at any time
3.Laws cannot bind the gen’rous soul nor halt love’s strong embrace;
We cannot regulate good deeds nor govern gifts of grace.
Nor govern gifts of grace.
4.The time to give support and care is now and every day;
When love was needed, it was there; this was the Jesus Way.
This was the Jesus Way.
5.To fail to see the work of God in acts of gen’rous care
Shows blindness and a hardened heart; of this we should beware!
Of this we should beware!
6.When love is given and received God is revealed each time;
When love is given and received it renders life sublime.
It renders life sublime.
