Worship Band

Blessed are the poor in spirit, longing for their Lord, for God’s coming kingdom shall be theirs.
Blessed are the sorrowing, for they shall be consoled, and the meek shall come to rule the world.

REFRAIN
Lead me, Lord, lead me, Lord, by the light of truth to seek and to find the narrow way.
Be my way; be my truth; be my life, my Lord, and lead me, Lord, today.

Blessed are the merciful, for mercy shall be theirs, and the pure in heart shall see their God.
Blest are they whose hunger only holiness can fill, for I say they shall be satisfied. REFRAIN

Blest are they who through their lifetimes sow the seeds of peace; all will call them children of the Lord.
Blest are you, though persecuted in your holy life, for in heaven, great is your reward. REFRAIN

Responsive Opening Words | Inspired by Jeremiah 31:7-9 | Rev. Bonnie Tarwater, UCC

One:     Sing aloud with gladness:
Many:   God is gathering the people!
One:     From the farthest parts of the earth we come:
Many:   All who struggle; all who labor with new life!
One:     Those who are weeping, God will console;

Many:   Those who get lost find a clear path home.
One:     Let us worship the God who gathers us!

♫Musical Offering | “Love is Flowing” | Darlene Sims
Ellen Gilbert, piano

Scripture Focus | Jeremiah 31: 7-9
7 This is what the Lord says:
“Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say,
‘Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.’
8 See, I will bring them from the land of the north and gather them from the ends of the earth.
Among them will be the blind and the lame, expectant mothers and women in labor; a great throng will return.
9 They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel’s father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.

♫Scripture Song | “All Praise to Thee, My God”

Message | “The God Who Gathers” | Jerry Bowen

♫Sending Song | “God be with You”

Sending Words

♫Sending Music | “Let There Be Praise” | Melodie and Dick Tunney
Worship Band

Let there be praise, let there be joy in our hearts. Sing to the Lord, give God the glory.
Let there be praise, let there be joy in our hearts. Forever more let God’s love fill the air and let there be praise.

He inhabits the praise of His people and dwells deep within. The peace that He gives none can equal.
His love, it knows no end. So lift your voices; with gladness and sing.
Proclaim through all the earth that Jesus Christ is King!
When the Spirit of God is within us, we will overcome.
In our weakness His strength will defend us when His praise is on our tongue.
So lift your voices; with gladness sing. Proclaim through all the earth that Jesus Christ is King!
