Sharing Time – Joys and Concerns | Ann Stover

♫Centering Music

Opening Meditation | written by Anne Osdieck
Was Puccini’s music for his ears alone?
Or was Starry Night only for Van Gogh’s eyes?

Are discerners of spirits better than those who prophesy?
Is it better to be a healer than a preacher?
Was Mother Teresa more important than the Jesuit brother who held the door?

Is red a better color than blue?

All gifts are from the same Spirit.
They are each a part of the whole and given to each of us for each other or for the common good.

Creating God, help us understand.
Thank you for all gifts.

Scripture Focus | Romans 12:3-8 | Humble Service in the Body of Christ

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with
the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we,
though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then
prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give
generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Unison Sending Prayer | inspired by prayers by Rev. Terri
Holy God as we leave this worship, help us in the week ahead to see your presence burning in the hearts of others.
We pray to see the connections through all of creation – uniting us and linking us in fellowship and love.
Grant us courage to respond to the needs of the world, giving us the stamina to be your hands and heart;
witnessing to your grace and mercy in both word and deed.
May it be so.
AMEN
