Church member Janelle Flory Schrock coordinated efforts to create a butterfly garden at the southeast entrance of Good Beginnings Preschool. Pollinator plants were planted in 2020. Additional plants were added in 2022. Butterflies impact the entire environment and are important pollinators. Their well-being is increasingly compromised by climate change, pesticide use and deforestation. When people plant butterfly gardens, butterflies are preserved as well as other native insects and plants.
