Scripture | Revelations 21:1-6 | New International Version (NIV) & [Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)]
A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the [old] heaven and the [old] earth had passed away, and
the [sea was no longer there]. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from
God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for {the} husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne
saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and {God} will dwell with them. They will be
{God’s} people, and [God-with-them] will be their God. 4 ‘{God} will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will
be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
5 [Then the One sitting] on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” [Also … …. “Write, ‘These words are
true and trustworthy.’”] 6 {The One said;} “It is done. I am the [‘A and the ‘Z,] the Beginning and the End. [To
anyone who is thirsty I myself will give water free of charge from the Fountain of Life.]

Community Prayer

Hymn | “On Eagles Wings” | arr. Mark Hayes
Francis Hendricks, vocal & Jean Hendricks, piano

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord – who abide in His shadow for life –
Say to the Lord, “My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!”
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings – bear you on the breath of dawn –
make you to shine like the sun – and hold you in the palm of His hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you and famine will bring you no fear.
Under His wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings – bear you on the breath of dawn –
make you to shine like the sun – and hold you in the palm of His hand.

You need not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day.
Though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings – bear you on the breath of dawn –
make you to shine like the sun – and hold you in the palm of His hand.

For to His angels He’s given a command – to guard you in all of your ways.
Upon their hands they will bear you up – lest you dash your foot against a stone.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings – bear you on the breath of dawn –
make you to shine like the sun – and hold you in the palm of His hand –
and hold you, hold you in the palm of His hand.
