The McPherson Community Brass Choir, directed by Jerry Toews, will present their Spring Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 in the Church Sanctuary. Featured will be a variety of music, with pieces from each of the sections, plus the brass quintet. A special arrangement by Don Frederick will include bagpipes. Participants are church members Darren Hendricks, Eric Goering, Seth Schoming and Winona Godfrey. Plan to attend this free concert and enjoy an afternoon of brass.

Reasonable Faith is a series that illustrates that Christianity is fully compatible with the findings of contemporary science, humanitarian ethics, and critical biblical scholarship. On Monday, April 29, 7-8 p.m., Kirk MacGregor will present “What Should Be the Christian View of Abortion?” in Mohler Hall, Room 212, McPherson College. Everyone is welcome.

McPherson College student, Lillian Oeding, will be presenting her Junior Flute Recital at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in the Church Sanctuary. Lillian will be accompanied by Jean Hendricks on piano. While living in Wichita, she performed with the Wichita Youth Symphony. She is currently a full-time member of the Salina Symphony, playing piccolo/3rd flute. No admission, everyone is invited.

First Fridays: McPherson College at The Cedars — This is a free educational series of classes that are open to all ages. On Friday, May 3, at 3 p.m., Dr. Becki Bowman will present “Legacy Project.” For additional information, contact Kendra Flory ( or 620.242.0432).

“On the Emmaus Road: Awakening to God” is the theme for Western Plains District Men’s Retreat. The retreat is planned for Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5 at Heartland Center for Spirituality, Great Bend. Registration forms are available in the Church Gathering Space.

McPherson College Band will perform its final concert of the school year at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, in Brown Auditorium. Everyone is invited.
