Western Plains District Women’s Retreat is planned for Friday – Sunday, April 5-7, at Crosswind Conference Center, Hesston. Theme:  “Tikkum Olan – Repairers of Creation Our Transforming Christ Journey,” to be presented by Bunny Helman Hill.  For registration forms/information, check the Church Gathering Space, Education Building literature rack or the District website.  Registration deadline: Thursday, February 28.

Reasonable Faith is a series that illustrates that Christianity is fully compatible with the findings of contemporary science, humanitarian ethics, and critical biblical scholarship. On Monday, February 25, 7-8 p.m., Kirk MacGregor will present “Should Christians Support War?” in Mohler Hall, Room 212, McPherson College. Everyone is welcome.

Ventures in Discipleship, McPherson College – The course offerings for spring will focus on the theme “Welcoming Congregations.” The March class will be held online, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (CST), Saturday, March 2. Barbara Avent, a Church of the Brethren minister, will be presenting “Growing a More Inclusive Multi-Cultural Church.” Classes are donation-based and continuing education credit is available at $10 per course. First Fridays: McPherson College at The Cedars — This is a free educational series of classes that are open to all ages. On Friday, March 1, at 3 p.m., Dr. Tom Hurst will present “My History with Race and Racism.” Contact Kendra Flory ( or 620.242.0432) for additional information.

Job Opening – A part-time position is available to assist with the care and maintenance of the church facility. The Environmental Services II position focuses primarily on mechanical/electrical infrastructure and routine annual maintenance. Contact the Church Office for more details or contact Chris Whitacre as Staff Liaison to the Property Team.

The Annual Food Drive for the McPherson County Food Bank is a project of the Outreach Team. Donations will be collected from Sunday, March 3 through Sunday, March 31. Items (canned and non-perishable foods, listed below) or money donations, may be left in a grocery cart in the Church Good Shepherd Foyer or in a storage container in the Education Building. The goal is to reach $2000 in total donations from food and/or money since we reached $1900 in donations last year. The Outreach Team is very hopeful and optimistic that we can do this!
