Congratulations to Logan and Maddie Schrag who were married on Saturday, June 23. Logan and Maddie will be honored at a Wedding Shower at 2 p.m. today, in the Church Social Room. Everyone is invited.

Max Landon Goering and Samantha Kay Fairchild will be married July 28, in the great wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. Everyone is invited to celebrate with them at a come and go reception on Sunday, August 5, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., at the Dyck Arboretum, 177 W. Hickory Street, Hesston. Faith Formation Team invites you to join the Connection Experiment to expand your circle and exchange stories. Twelve weeks – during worship – June 3 thru August 19.

Julie Hart will be giving a presentation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at Kaufman House (KIPCOR’s Offices), 2515 College Avenue, North Newton. Her new book is entitled Pathways to Pacifism and Antiwar Activism Among US Veterans: the Role of Moral Identity in Personal Transformation.  Julie taught Sociology and Peace Studies at Bethel College from 1994-2006, and is presently teaching at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.  The book is a result of interviews with 114 US veterans (including 12 current Mennonites) and answers the question, how do significant changes from pro war to antiwar occur? She will also discuss recommendations for the church and the military based on the study.

“Stress and Disease: The Connection And What To Do About It” by Charles “Dean” Johnson, will be presented at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 20, in The Cedars Wellness Center. Everyone is welcome.

Brethren Disaster Ministries announces upcoming opportunities – Lybrook Community Ministries, September 2 –8. The work will include cutting and splitting wood, winterizing homes, assistance in a thrift shop and other projects. Contact Bud Taylor (620.245.4836) or Susan Taylor (620.245.4835) if interested. Summer Intergenerational Spiritual Growth

  • You can participate even if you miss one or two Sundays due to summer travel and commitments.

Nine students from our congregation will be attending Church of the Brethren institutions of higher education during the 2018-19 school year. In support of these students, the McPherson CoB will be providing scholarships for each student at the beginning of each semester. To fund the scholarships, your continued support is appreciated. Checks may be placed in an offering plate with “Higher Education Scholarship Fund” marked in the memo line.
