Posted July 6th, 2018

Faith Formation Team invites you to join the Connection Experiment to expand your circle and exchange stories. Twelve weeks – during worship – June 3 thru August 19.

The memorial service for Anne Albright, who died on Friday, February 16, 2018, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Southern Poverty Law Center or to McPherson College.

Julie Hart will be giving a presentation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at Kaufman House (KIPCOR’s Offices), 2515 College Avenue, North Newton. Her new book is entitled Pathways to Pacifism and Antiwar Activism Among US Veterans: the Role of Moral Identity in Personal Transformation.  Julie taught Sociology and Peace Studies at Bethel College from 1994-2006, and is presently teaching at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.  The book is a result of interviews with 114 US veterans (including 12 current Mennonites) and answers the question, how do significant changes from pro war to antiwar occur? She will also discuss recommendations for the church and the military based on the study.
