Ivanna Moyer will graduate from McPherson College today. Ivanna will be honored at a reception from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. today, in the Church Social Room. Everyone is invited.

Today and Sunday, May 27th – During Spiritual Growth Time (Sunday School) from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., in the Sanctuary Building lower level classroom, Leadership Team Chair, Wylene Lengel, will be hosting successive ‘Dream Team’ sessions to receive your feedback. On the 20th the ‘Dream Team’ is asking the question, “What are your objective observations about the McPherson Church of the Brethren?” (Who are we right now?). On the 27th the ‘Dream Team’ is asking the question, “What are your Dreams for the McPherson Church of the Brethren?” (Who do we wish to be?). This feedback will be added to information already received and yet to be received in meetings to be held in June. In September, you will be asked to provide feedback about the ‘next steps’ for the McPherson Church of the Brethren.

“A Musical Evening: Flute and Clarinet” – In the past, Kento Aizawa and Lillian Oeding have enhanced The Cedars Worship Services with special music. At 7 p.m., on Wednesday, May 30, you are invited to the Wellness Center to enjoy an evening of fine music, presented by Kento and Lillian. Accompanist will be Jean Hendricks.

Faith Formation Team invites you to join the Connection Experiment to expand your circle and exchange stories. June 6th and beyond!

“Splash Canyon” is the theme for Vacation Bible School which is planned for June 4-8 at the church. Registration is available on the church website (www.macbrethren.org) by clicking on the “Splash Canyon” tab.

The Cedars Newsletter — Twice yearly, The Cedars publishes a newsletter for its constituents. If you are not currently on The Cedars mailing list and would like to receive the newsletter, please contact the McPherson CoB office to give permission for your name and address to be forwarded to The Cedars.

Jerry Bowen has been invited to serve as spiritual director at both Camp Colorado Senior High and Junior High Camps! Jerry was planning to fulfill the spiritual director role at senior high camp in June, but was sought out to fill the junior high position also. The Leadership Team has met and agreed that Jerry should proceed with this opportunity. We are pleased that Jerry can represent our church at Camp Colorado in this way.

Nine students from our congregation will be attending Church of the Brethren institutions of higher education during the 2018-19 school year. In support of these students, the McPherson CoB will be providing scholarships for each student at the beginning of each semester. To fund the fall scholarships, we still need $1000. Checks may be placed in an offering plate with “Higher Education Scholarship Fund” marked in the memo line.

Items for the Silent Auction are located in the Church Community Room. Proceeds from the auction will be deposited to the Facility Improvement Fund. To place bids or to learn more, contact Bud Taylor (taylorbud48@cox.net or 620.245.4836).
