Posted November 10th, 2017

Fall Congregational Forum – 12:30 p.m., today, Church Social Room. For a packet, contact an usher. Join us for the potluck before the meeting.

Would you like to become a member? Would you like to dedicate your child(ren)? To initiate a conversation, express your intent or to ask questions, contact: Pastors Chris, Jerry, or Kathryn, through the Church Office (620-241-1109).

The Sojourners Class invites the church family and friends to enjoy music, food and fellowship at the annual Christmas Breakfast, Sunday, December 3, 8:45 a.m., in the Church Social Rooms. Dawn Hoffman will share a story for all ages and music will be provided by the McPherson College Performing Arts Department. Please bring a breakfast pastry to share and we’ll do the rest. There will be no Sunday School that morning.

Mary Hester, librarian at McPherson College Miller Library, invites volunteer help to process materials in the Brethren Archives. No special skills are needed, she will train. Any help is appreciated; one time, weekly or bi-weekly. The timeline for this project is short – she is in urgent need of help.

While much national attention has focused on the recent hurricanes, work remains from previous flooding.  Western Plains has been given the responsibility of staffing the Eureka, MO, BMD site near St. Louis December 3 – 9.  If you have previously expressed interest, please reconfirm.  If you are now considering, please contact Bud or Susan Taylor (taylors@yahoo.com or taylorbud48@cox.net).

The Good Samaritan Fund Balance Account, used for local emergencies, is running low. If you would like to contribute to the fund, you may place your check in an offering plate or mail it to the Church Office.

Haiti Project – Until December 31, 2017, the Royer Foundation will continue to donate an additional fifty-cents to every dollar given to the HAITI PROJECT. Continuing efforts include mobile health clinics, on-site mini-pharmacies and maternal health/midwife training. A new growing emphasis on clean water – wells, purification and rooftop collection – will be expanded in 2018. To give, please indicate, “Haiti Project” on the “memo” portion of your check or on your donation envelope.
