June Newsletter – Printed copies are available on the literature stands in the Church Good Shepherd Foyer and the Education Building Foyer, and on the small table by the telephone in the Church Social Room. Information is also available on-line (www.macbrethren.org).

Help Save the Planet! Earth Day Tip #21, shared by the Philo Class: Shop close to home this week. Try to make all of your purchases from local stores or vendors rather than from far away locations or vendors that are not connected to your community.

McPherson College seniors Rebecca Grosbach and Jon Neher will be honored at a graduation reception today, following McPherson College Commencement. The church family is invited to join them at The North Cedars Down Under Room, 1225½ Darlow Drive.

Two members of the Church History Book Project Group will be at a table in the Good Shepherd Foyer today and again on May 30, June 6, and June 13, for the purpose of collecting from those who want to buy a copy (or copies) of the book. Cost is $14.00 per book, including the supplemental computer disc. Write your check to “McPherson Church of the Brethren” with “History Book” on the memo line. Publication is scheduled for August. Thank you.

Camp Colorado will hold their Opening Work Weekend on May 29 – May 31. If you are interested in helping open the camp for the summer camping season, please plan to attend. Directions to Camp Colorado are available on their website (http://www.campcolorado.org).

Calling all children, ages 4 years (as of June 1st) through fifth grade — Hero Headquarters, Vacation Bible School 2010! VBS is planned for 9 a.m. – 12 noon on Monday – Friday, June 7-11, at the Church of the Brethren. On-line registration (at the advance price of $95) for the 2010 Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, PA is available at http://www.brethren.org/ac through Monday, June 7, 2010.

Registration forms for the 2010 Western Plains District Conference (July 30 – August 1) are available in the Church Office or at (www.westernplainschurchofthebrethren.org).

The House for Haiti Project has received $3,995 of the $6,000 needed to build a 3-room home. Sending the funds to Haiti helps stimulate their economy, since Brethren Disaster Ministries buys local materials and hires local people to build the house. Thanks to all who’ve contributed so far. Newsletter Deadline

A new email address has been set up for the church family to use when sending newsletter information. The address is: newsletter@macbrethren.org. Items may also be left in the newsletter tray in the Church Office. The basic schedule for the newsletter will continue with items due by the third Sunday of the month for publication in the printed newsletter. Information for the March issue is due on Sunday, February 21.
