The church family is invited to attend the 15th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner which is planned for Thanksgiving Day, November 25, at the Community Building. Serving time will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. There is no charge for the meal. Volunteers to help and donations for pies are requested. The Sojourners Class invites the church family and guests to attend the Christmas Breakfast, at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 5, in the Church Social Room. Music by Inspire, storytelling by Dawn Hoffman, good food, and fellowship are all part of an annual tradition that brings special meaning to the Advent season. Please bring a breakfast goodie to share. Sunday School classes will not meet that morning.
Alexander Mack Men’s Fellowship will hold their annual Christmas Dinner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8 (note the date change), in the Church Social Room. Dinner will be served by AMICS. Music by Inspire (Ellen Gilbert, Dawn Hoffman and Deb Wagoner) and Resonance (Bruce Wagoner, Bryan Hess and Dan Masterson) will follow the meal. Steps to End Poverty (STEPMC) invites you to attend an opportunity to learn more about ending poverty in McPherson. Carlos Guajardo, a Getting Ahead graduate from Springfield, Ohio, will be telling his story of how Circles™ helped him move out of poverty. He is now assisting others in his community. Two sessions are being offered at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 9, 11:30 – 1 p.m. or 6:30 – 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
