Vision Statement

Thank you for cookie deliveries

Thank you to Bonnie and Dave Fruth, John and Maxine Miller, and Miriam Hoover who provided cookies to deliver to the nearly 80 McPherson and Central Christian College students who have agreed to have contact with our congregation during this year.  The Senior High Youth have packaged those and they are being delivered before exams with a note attached thanking the students for their presence in McPherson, and to stay in touch with our congregation over the summer via our website, on Facebook, or by text messages.  We also expressed our hope to see them again next Fall.

This year cookies have been delivered to these college students on four different occasions, each time packaged by either the Junior or Senior High youth.  That’s nearly 1600 cookies!  Thanks to the congregation for their cookie donations to support these college students, and for supporting this service project of the youth group.

Sally Nelson accepts new position

Sally Nelson has resigned her position as alumni director at McPherson College effective April 9. She was approached about a position with LifeSource, the organ procurement organization of the Upper Midwest. It is a group that she has been deeply involved with for several years and that has a great deal of personal meaning for her. Sally will work as a donor family services coordinator. In addition to the new employment opportunity, the move to Minneapolis, Minnesota, will allow her to be in closer proximity to her son.

In the last four years Sally has demonstrated her commitment to her alma mater through her diligent work in building strong alumni relationships and creating effective gatherings. She’s also worked in the community and with churches to enhance the college’s presence.  We will miss her presence at the McPherson Church of the Brethren.

Pray for disaster volunteers

Please pray for the 10 McPherson College students and 7 faculty and staff members who will be working with Brethren Disaster Ministries in Hammond, Indiana, to clean-up and restore houses damaged by flood waters during their spring break in late March.

Thank you from McPherson College basketball team

On behalf of our men’s basketball team, a big THANK YOU to those who brought food and assisted with the meal on January 3.  Not only did our team enjoy delicious food, but we enjoyed our fellowship as well.

Having our players back before the cafeteria is open can make for a challenging meal schedule.  We are extremely grateful the church offered this opportunity.
