Help Save the Planet! Earth Day Tip #22, shared by the Philo Class: Buy one organic produce item this week and help the earth and your body steer clear of pesticides. Try organic apples and grapes as typically they do not hold lots of pesticides.

Two members of the Church History Book Project Group will be at a table in the Good Shepherd Foyer today and again on June 6 and June 13, for the purpose of collecting from those who want to buy a copy (or copies) of the book. Cost is $14.00 per book, including the supplemental computer disc. Write your check to “McPherson Church of the Brethren” with “History Book” on the memo line. Publication is scheduled for August. Thank you.

A workshop for understanding and reviewing the proposed revision to our district organizational structure is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, in the Church Community Room. Bob Dell, District Moderator-Elect, will be the presenter. The paper was originally presented to last year’s District Conference. Small groups raised numerous questions and made suggestions. As a result the paper has been updated and the changes have been approved by the District Board for recommendation to the next District Conference. The workshop is open to everyone.

On-line registration (at the advance price of $95) for the 2010 Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, PA is available at http://www.brethren.org/ac through Monday, June 7, 2010.

Registration forms for the 2010 Western Plains District Conference (July 30 – August 1) are available in the Church Office or at (www.westernplainschurchofthebrethren.org).

The House for Haiti Project is over two-thirds of the way toward our $6,000 goal! The sooner we reach this goal, the sooner Brethren Disaster Ministries can buy Haitian materials and employ Haitians workers to complete our 3-room home. Make checks payable to the McPherson Church of the Brethren with the subject line Haiti House Project.
