It’s time again to be thinking of choir. This will be an exciting fall since we will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of our church. I would like to invite everyone who loves to sing to come to our first rehearsal which will be held from 7 – 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, in the Church Sanctuary. Please consider joining us and share your musical talents. It will be fun and it’s a great way to be involved in the life of the church. Angelus Ringers will also begin rehearsals at 8:15 p.m. on the 25th, in the Church Sanctuary. Hope to see you on August 25! – Winona Godfrey

The church family is invited to attend a Baby Shower for Jeff, Liz, and Matthew Krehbiel at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, in the Church Social Room. For gift suggestions or if you would like to contribute to a group gift, please contact Daisy Friesen (245-5865) or Lisa Goering (755-2876) by Wednesday, August 25.

Everyone, junior high age and older, who would enjoy being a member of an intergenerational Sunday school class this fall, may wish to join the INQUIRERS Class. They will seek to “take Jesus seriously” by doing a study of Jesus’ life and teachings. The text will be A. C. Wieand’s harmony, Gospel Records of the Message and Mission of Jesus Christ. Contact Florence Crago (241-4386) for books and information.

If you are interested in assisting with infant child care during Sunday school, please contact Christi Paulsen (245-0164).

Plans for the publication of a cookbook to benefit Projects Unlimited are underway by Western Plains District. Each congregation is invited to gather favorite recipes and send them to Mary Beth Tuttle (209 Miles Avenue, Lewiston, NE 68380), Annette Dell (29746 S. 66th Rd., Beatrice, NE 68310) or you may submit them to the McPherson Church Office by November 15. Here’s a reminder about turning in church camp forms in the coming weeks:

Forms for Camp Mt. Hermon Junior High (7-8) Camp, and Camp Colorado Senior High and Junior (5-6) Camps should be in the church office already, in order to have time to add health statements that are still valid and on file from last year, as well as cut checks for the congregation’s portion of registration fees.

Forms for Camp Mt. Hermon Senior High and Junior (5-6) Camps, and Camp Colorado Junior High (7-8) Camp are due in the church office on Sunday, May 16.

Forms for Camp Mt. Hermon Pre-Junior (3-4) and Come-Along-With-Me (K-2) Camps, and Camp Colorado Pre-Junior (3-4) Camp are due in the church on Sunday, May 23.

Also, persons needing transportation to and/or from Camp Colorado should also register with the church office before May 23, or by contacting shawn.replogle@sbcglobal.net.  Registration costs are $90 round trip; $45 one way.  After May 23, spots will be made available on a first-come/first-served basis until remaining spots are filled.

Checks for camp registration costs should be made directly to the camps: Camp Mt. Hermon or Camp Colorado.
Checks for Camp Colorado transportation should be made to: McPherson CoB Youth.

Thanks!  See you at camp!

If this date doesn’t fit your schedule, please consider traveling to Tonganoxie, Ks. for Camp Mt. Hermon’s (CMH) annual work weekend. From April 30th-May 2nd, the CMH Board of Trustees invite anyone of any age who is willing to sweep, paint, organize, repair, hammer, wash dishes, do plumbing &/or electrical work, mow or any other projects that need done, to come…see and experience this beautiful, rustic camp for 1 or both nights, FREE of charge!! Yea! What a magnificent opportunity! We are especially looking for a licensed electrician, who would be willing to install our new elevator that has been sitting idly by, waiting for that one special person to get her up and running! A worship service will also be held on Sunday morning. To RSVP or for more information, please feel free to contact Joanna Smith at (785)448-4436 or cafemojo@hotmail.com
