Our Philosophy

We believe parents are their child’s first teachers and experts on their child! Our goal at Good Beginnings is to build on the strong foundation parents have already begun. We create many opportunities for children to continue their growth, development, and learning in an atmosphere of Christian love.

We offer a developmentally sound educational experience. Good Beginnings Preschool uses the High/Scope Curriculum, a nationally recognized curriculum. The High/Scope Curriculum focuses on social/emotional development, language and literacy development, mathematics and cognitive thinking skills, large and small muscle development, and self-help skills.

Learning occurs throughout the day at different rates for each child. Each child goes through similar stages of growth and development but at his or her own unique pace. Young children are naturally motivated to learn! They explore and invent while they discover the world around them. We at Good Beginnings want to support and guide each child’s learning!

We also strive to stay up to date on the McPherson Public School system and their curriculum. In the pre-kindergarten class children are able to experience Animated Literacy which introduces letters and their sounds using characters, songs and activities. The children are able to enter kindergarten in USD #418 with prior knowledge of this program.
