Good Beginnings Preschool is a nonprofit organization which has been providing quality preschool education for McPherson since 1982. At Good Beginnings we believe parents are the experts on their child. Our goal is to build on the strong foundation parents have already begun. We create many opportunities for learning and growth in an atmosphere of Christian love.
We offer a developmentally sound educational experience. Good Beginnings Preschool uses the High/Scope Curriculum, a nationally recognized curriculum. The High/Scope curriculum focuses on social/emotional needs, language development, logic, mathematics, large and small muscle development and self-help skill development.
Children at Good Beginnings are often working in more then one of these skill areas at a time. Learning occurs throughout the day at different rates for each child. Each child goes through similar stages of growth and development, but at his or her own unique pace. Young children are naturally motivated to learn! They explore and invent while they discover the world around them. We at Good Beginnings want to support and guide these many discoveries!
At Good Beginnings we also strive to stay up to date on the McPherson Public School system and their curriculum. In the pre-kindergarten class children are able to experience Animated Literacy which introduces letters and their sounds using characters, songs and activities. The children are able to enter kindergarten in USD #418 with prior knowledge of this program.
