Mt. Hope Sanctuary Household Needs
Posted May 24th, 2010May has been an exciting month for us at Mt. Hope Sanctuary. We all really enjoyed riding on our float on May Day. If you haven’t had a chance to enter our drawing for the playhouse, you still have time! It’s currently sitting on Midway Motors lot on Ash and Kansas, so if you get a chance go check it out.
I would like to send special recognition to the Andover Lutheren Church in Windom who organized a special drive for us. They gave many items, including household items for our women when they move out as well as goodies for our house too. It is such a blessing for our gals to receive a basket of supplies such as first aid kits, towels, and pantry items. Thank you to all that gave to our ministry!
Thank you also to those of you that faithfully support us, both financially and with in-kind donations. You would not believe how excited we get when we receive a can of dusting spray! It fulfills a need, and really gives an example of God’s provision for our household.
If you would consider helping us again this month, we are still needing several items:
- copy paper (#1 on the list this month)
- water softener salt
- liquid fabric softener
- 13 gallon trash bags
- jet dry
- bleach
- disinfectant spray (such as Lysol)
- stainless steel cleaner
- paper towels
- gallon size Ziploc baggies

More than 900 hygiene kits completed for Haiti relief

Through the combined efforts of McPherson College, McPherson Church of the Brethren, Good Beginnings Pre-School, McPherson United Methodist Church, Washington Elementary School, A Lutheran Church in Lindsborgh and Soderstrom Elementary School, a total of 902 hygiene kits have been sent to Church World Service in Elkhart, IN for the Haiti relief effort.
This adds up to more than $10,000 to purchase and donate kit items and to pay for shipping. What a wonderful response!
On behalf of those at the college who took a primary interest in this project and on behalf of Campus Ministries at McPherson College, thank you all so very much. We have been glad to help complete and get the kits and money where it all needed to go.
