Lenten Study for the Congregation:

—-Six Sunday series led by Faith Formation Team Co-Chairs Sarah Hendricks and Sheryl Schrag with their spouses Darren Hendricks and Rick Schrag    5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26 through Sunday, April 1 – Upper East Balcony Classroom

“24 Hours That Changed the World” – DVD Study by Adam Hamilton    Filmed on location in the Holy Land, moving from the Last Supper to the Resurrection — Learn how Jesus’ last days on earth changed conventional ideas about good/evil, justice, history, life/death. Call the Church Office (241-1109) to reserve your space.

Lenten Study for Deacons:

—-Five Tuesday series led by Deacon Co-Chair, Lela Beam    6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesdays February 28 – April 3 – Church Social Room

These Tuesdays incorporate March Deacon meetings and April Baptisms and Love Feast planning sessions. (will not meet March 20)  Topics will include: Prayer and Devotional Life, Anointing, The Gift of Silence and Solitude, Fasting, Scripture and Devotional Readings

From March 4 through May 27, everyone, Junior High age through adult, is invited to meet in the Church Social Room during the Sunday school hour (9-10 a.m.). Hosted by the Open and Affirming Discernment Core Group, the topic for these sessions will be “Educating Ourselves.” We will spend 13 weeks reading, watching, listening, and discussing a broad range of topics related to Homosexuality. For questions, please contact any one of the Core Group Members: Gayle Bartel, Kendra Flory, Jana Goering, Stephanie Johannes, Kelli Johnson, Brenda Rothrock, LaMonte Rothrock, Lois Schrag, Susan Taylor, and Kathryn Whitacre.

Victim/Offender Ministries, Inc. will be holding their Annual Dinner at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Newton. Dr. Gregory C. Ellison II, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Candler School of Theology, will present A Strange Freedom (Revisited). For reservations, call 316-283-2038. Everyone is invited.

GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER!

The Women’s Ministries is organizing the sixth annual “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” event for Thursday, March 1- Sunday, March 4, 2012. Please fill out the form below and put it in offering plate or the Church Office by Monday, February 20, 2012, indicating your desire to participate in this event. Contact Judy Stockstill (241-2978 or judy.r.stockstill@gmail.com) for questions.

Hosts are asked to supply the main course, beverage, and a home where all the fun will take place. Hosts also set what time in the evening the meal will begin. Guests are asked to bring a vegetable, salad, bread, or dessert, and a willingness to help make the fun “happen”. This is for young and old alike.
