Some of us will consider giving up something in this season of Lenten preparation. The practice is not so much about self sacrifice, but about fasting and reframing our attention to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Pray this week that your journey in Lent will reveal the places where you have turned your attention from God.

•Pray for the four northern states in Nigeria where terrorist-type violence has prompted the government to recently declare a state of emergency. Pray for the Nigerian Brethren, their congregations, pastors, denominational leaders, and CoB mission worker, Carol Smith.
•On-going conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq
•Continuing prayers for our brothers and sisters in North and south Sudan
•Our brothers and sisters in Christ in Brazil, Haiti, Dominican Republic, India, Nigeria, and Sudan
•Palestinians and Israelis experiencing violence; may hearts be opened for a new way
